Privacy Policy

Your Privacy and Our Policy on Information Collection

Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio (hereafter referred to as “we,” “CCSWOH,” or “agency”) is committed to protect your privacy. We only acquire publicly available personal information lawfully for the purpose of cultivating and soliciting potential donors, web transactions, newsletters and emails, and general inquiries. We only use this information for the intended services. For some services, we may request information about background, occupation, demographics, and interests.

Donors and potential donors always have the right to request that they not be contacted, solicited or that their information is no longer used for these purposes. We honor these requests immediately, and when feasible or requested, verify that one’s information has been inactivated.

Donors have the right to request that their information, including financial transactions, be kept anonymous. Only members of the executive management of CCSWOH and staff of the Mission Advancement team have access to identifiable information of anonymous donors, and only for the business purposes for which it is intended.

Nonpublic information is only collected when constituents knowingly provide that information. Further, nonpublic information is the property of the organization for which it is collected and is not shared with persons other than those who are involved with the cultivation or solicitation effort, or those who need that information in the performance of their duties for our agency.

We may collect information about computer hardware and software such as IP addresses, browser types, domain names, access times, and the referring websites that visitors use to access web pages. We use this information to maintain the quality of the service and to collect general statistics.

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain date accuracy and ensure the correct use of information, we have put into place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Physical artifacts of donation information are securely archived at CCSWOH for up to five years, until securely shredded and disposed.

Policy on Information Disclosure

We collect personal information to deliver the services you request and to understand our constituents so that we can better meet their needs. We do not sell, trade, or rent any personal information. We may compile aggregate statistics and provide them to third parties, but we do not include information that identifies individual website users.

We may save personal information to comply with federal and state policies, but we do not disclose this information to third parties or government agencies unless state or federal law requires us to do so or exigent circumstances require us to protect the safety of our users or the public.

We are Committed to Transparency

Constituents have a right to request, review and correct personal information that is acquired about them by CCSWOH. For the purposes of protecting the person’s privacy, information is inactivated and not deleted from our records, so that any inadvertent future acquisition of personal information is flagged as not to be used, without the express consent of the individual.

Revisions to the Privacy Policy

We may revise this privacy policy at any time in response to changes in the law or other factors. We encourage you to periodically visit this page to review the most current policy.
