Position Summary
Provide housing services and develop resources and community partnerships for the Refugee Resettlement Services program (RRS) and clients served. Locate appropriate housing that fits the needs of newly arriving refugees and provide housing education and orientation. Assist refugees with housing issues that create barriers to self-sufficiency. Work with local landlords, housing programs and community partners to foster positive working relationships and provide training on resettlement process and CCSWO services. Manage and develop resources including material, financial and volunteer contributions to the program. Supervise and coordinate interns and volunteers with the Refugee Resettlement Program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure newly arriving refugees have safe, stable and furnished housing upon arrival as stipulated by the Refugee Resettlement Cooperative Agreement. Ensure corresponding documentation and case notes are completed within required time frame. Ensure all utilities are turned on upon arrival and leases are signed.
- Work with RRS Case Managers to ensure housing needs of refugees are met throughout the Reception & Placement and Match Grant service periods.
- Recruit and retain local landlords willing to rent units to clients served in the RRS program.
- Ensure housing education and housing needs are provided to newly arriving refugees to meet the Cooperative Agreement cultural orientation standards for housing.
- Recruit and oversee resource management including: purchase of required furniture (i.e. mattresses and bedframes), material donations, warehouse storage space, volunteer services and community partnerships.
- Ensure successful collaboration and representation of RRS program with external partners (landlords, resource providers, volunteers, Airbnb, etc.) to advocate on Client’s behalf and develop resources for the population served.
- Complete quarterly in-kind donation reports.
- Supervise and coordinate housing and donation volunteer services, move teams, donation drives, service provision, tracking and reporting volunteer hours and managing in-kind donation inventory.
- Ensure maintenance of landlord database system and housing programs tracking housing data. (i.e. number served, rent price, number in each household, cost of utilities, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills
- Written and spoken English required, foreign language skills a plus
- Ability to represent the mission and goals of the program and CCSWO to the public
- A demonstrated ability to work with refugees and immigrants
- Excellent record keeping skills
- Commitment to the provision of services for refugees
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to drive personal and/or agency vehicles
Supervisory Responsibilities:
RRS interns, mentors and volunteers
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor degree and knowledge of refugee resettlement services
- Proficiency in a foreign language native to refugee populations, such as Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French, Tigrinya, Pashto, Dari
Work Environment:
Typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.

- Talk to other employees/clients and hear them
- See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents
- Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds
