Managing Caregiver Stress

The “Managing Caregiver Stress” presentation is an excerpt from a program called “Powerful Tools for Caregivers.” You will learn the steps for effective stress management, discuss tools to reduce stress, develop a plan for reducing stress and try a relaxation activity that is easy to incorporate into your daily life. This presentation is being offered at several locations listed below in February. Events are free, but space is limited and registration is requested. Powerful Tools for Caregivers – FREE 6 week class

“Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is a program designed to help family caregivers like you. Classes meet 90 minutes once a week for six weeks. This FREE class will give you tools to:

  • Help reduce stress
  • Communicate effectively with other family members, your doctor, and paid help
  • Take care of yourself
  • Reduce guilt, anger and depression
  • Help you relax
  • Make tough decisions
  • Set goals and problem-solve

Mindfulness Meditation for Caregivers – FREE 6 week class

This special six-week class will offer instruction in a few simple, skills-based meditation techniques from the Unified Mindfulness school, founded by world renowned teacher Shinzen Young. The FREE class is being offered by Leslie Hanna, MA Speech Pathology, and Unified Mindfulness teacher in training. Learn Mindfulness Meditation to:

  • Better manage the stresses of daily life;
  • Learn to find moments of peace even in the middle of ordinary or hectic days;
  • Gain practical skills to stay focused on your personal goals;
  • Develop a greater sense of balance and well-being
