Position Summary:

The Human Resources Director has overall responsibility for the Human Resources (HR) function. The HR Director is responsible for recruiting and retention strategies; employee relations and engagement; performance management, compensation management. The HR Director also holds overall responsibility for ensuring that CCSWO maintains compliance with human resource-related organizational, Archdiocesan, state, and federal policies and regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are following local, state, and federal guidelines.
  2. Manage the recruitment, interviewing, selection and onboarding process for all internal and external candidates to fill vacant positions.
  3. Train and provide guidance to managers on topics including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, disciplinary action, performance reviews, and terminations.
  4. Oversee the performance review process to make sure all reviews done on a timely basis.
  5. Develop and continually evaluate agency training program, including administration of Relias Learning Management System. Ensure training strategies and activities build on agency effectiveness, and provide appropriate training regarding all human resources policies and procedures.
  6. Advise and direct management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues up to and including termination of employment.
  7. Monitor HR programs and develops/revises policies as requirements of the organization change or as changes in legal requirements dictate.
  8. Administer salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.
  9. Assist in the annual enrollment, administration and communication of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Group benefit program.
  10. Conduct investigations and assume lead role in any HR related legal matter.
  11. Facilitate agency wide committees such as Recognition, Wellness, and Onboarding.
  12. Advise program directors on the proper onboarding and continued management of independent contractors.
  13. In coordination with management, advance a culture of diversity, inclusion, equality, trust, commitment, accountability, spirituality, and a basic understanding of Catholic Social Teaching among employees and volunteers.
  14. Coordinate workers’ compensation claims reporting.
  15. Review all CCSWO job descriptions and ensures they are up to date.
  16. Oversee employee personnel files to ensure only appropriate and required documents included.
  17. Serve as the agency Client Rights Officer.
  18. Identify opportunities for advancement of employee professional development, including management and supervisory skills.
  19. Support agency volunteer management through consultation.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field requited.
  2. SHRM-CP/PHR certification required.
  3. Seven years or more of human resources generalist experience handling areas such as recruitment, employee relations, compensation/benefits administration, policy and procedure development, compliance, workers’ compensation.
  4. Knowledge of legal compliance requirements at federal and state levels.
  5. Experience with development and implementation of human resource policies and practices.
  6. Strong conflict resolution and collaboration skills.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  9. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at the same time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. SHRM-SCP/SPHR certification.
  2. Master’s Degree in Business or related field.
  3. Experience implementing initiatives for teamwork development and organizational health.

Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
