POSITION TITLE: Immigration Legal Services Program Aide

REPORTS TO: Immigration Legal Services Director

WORK HOURS: 15-19 hours per week
LOCATION: Cincinnati Office
Position Summary:
Under direction, this temporary position will provide interpretation services and case management support for Afghan evacuees being representing by Immigration Legal Services, ending no later than June 30th, 2024. Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio reserves the right to terminate the position at any time.
Essential Job Functions:
Under general direction and working collaboratively with the Immigration Legal Services program staff:
- Assist ILS staff with interpretation for immigration case preparation.
- Assist with declaration preparation for asylum cases for parolees.
- Assist with asylum interview preparation.
- Ensure parolees and refugees have transportation and lodging for required immigration appointments and interviews.
- Assist ILS staff with file management and reporting for grant requirements for parolees and refugees.
- Ensure case files are kept up to date with the required documentation.
- Complete case notes for all client interactions and ensure information is entered into the case management system in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent in Dari or Pashto.
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in computer-based case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Culturally competent with diverse, international clients and individuals with limited English proficiency.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License that meets CCSWOH current carrier guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of and experience with office management systems and procedures.
