POSITION TITLE: Part-Time Mental Health Therapist

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Mental Health Services

REPORTS TO: Director of Mental Health Services

REPORTS TO: 5-20 hours/week, depending on availability

DATE: May 2022

WORK LOCATION: MidPointe Cincinnati or Hamilton Office

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Therapist will provide culturally competent mental health services to individuals and families who are experiencing varying levels of difficulties due to life situations or mental health concerns.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to clients as scheduled.
  2. Complete clinical documentation within expected timeframes.
  3. Maintain required billable hours. Work hours must be maintained in a way that is responsive to client needs at each location.
  4. Actively participate as a positive member of the agency environment.
  5. Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
  6. Complete all recommended continuing education requirements and Relias Trainings.
  7. Stay current with updated research and best practices.
  8. Be aware of community referral sources and refer when necessary.
  9. Secure client information per HIPAA standards.
  10. Maintain case files within electronic health record (EHR) that are up to date and within expected guidelines.
  11. Participate in individual and/or group supervision as required.
  12. Participate in staff meetings as required.
  13. Abide by the agency’s policies and procedures.
  14. Uphold the agency’s mission statement.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned (including but not limited to completion of Social Security/Disability forms, authorization and billing forms, phone calls, and participating in case consultation meetings).

None

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree in counseling or social work
  2. Proficient in utilization of computer-based medical records
  3. Non-dependent license in counseling or social work is required, Independent license in counseling or social work is preferred
  4. Bilingual in Spanish or another language preferred but not required
  5. Experience with interpreters preferred

Work Environment:

Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.

  • Talk to other employees/clients and hear them
  • See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents
