WORK HOURS: 37.5 Hours Per Week

WORK LOCATION: MidPointe Cincinnati

 Position Summary:

The Payroll and Payable Specialist will work closely with staff and administration to process the agency employee payroll as well as the interpretation payroll and volunteer stipends.  In addition, the Payroll and Payable Specialist will coordinate with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and Human Resources to ensure that benefits are properly applied and all payroll data is current and accurate.  This position will also be responsible for processing and distributing a portion of the agency’s weekly accounts payable.

Essential Job Functions:

 Payroll

  1. Prepare and process bi-weekly agency payroll.
  2. Input and balance time sheets for FGP/SCP monthly payroll (100-125 checks) in Paycor.
  3. Input and balance interpreter contractor time in Paycor for bi-monthly payments.
  4. Maintain CCSWOH payroll data in Paylocity.
  5. Review and process employee reimbursement requests.
  6. Input new employees into agency Time-on-Demand and Paylocity payroll system.

Accounts Payable

  1. Prepare weekly check runs and verify the accuracy and completeness of all invoices and check requests.
  2. Record to the general ledger through the AP system all weekly checks being processed.
  3. Print and distribute the agency checks.
  4. Answer employee questions regarding AP payments.

 Miscellaneous Duties

  1. Daily opening and delivering of accounting department mail.
  2. Process agency credit card donations and payments.
  3. Serve as the United Way Campaign Coordinator – maintain pledge spreadsheet, balance final pledges.
  4. Back up for other finance positions.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Prior payroll experience
  • General understanding of accounting debits/credits
  • High school diploma, Associates degree preferred
  • Computer keyboard, mathematical ability, word processing/typing and spread sheet (45-55 words per minute)
  • Strong Excel, Word, and database skills
