POSITION TITLE: Resource Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Refugee Resettlement Services

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director, Refugee Resettlement Services

WORK HOURS: 20-25 Hours Per Week

DATE: February 2024

WORK LOCATION: MidPointe Cincinnati

Position Summary

Support the Housing and Resource Coordinator by managing and developing resources including material, financial and volunteer contributions to the program Coordinate interns and volunteers to assist with tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Ensure newly arriving refugees have furnished housing upon arrival as stipulated by the Refugee Resettlement Cooperative Agreement. 
  2. Ensure corresponding documentation and case notes are completed within the required timeframe.   
  3. Work with Refugee Resettlement team to ensure housing goods are provided throughout   the Reception & Placement and Match Grant service periods.
  4. Recruit and oversee resource management including: purchase of required furniture (i.e. mattresses and bedframes), material donations, warehouse storage space, volunteer services, and community partnerships.
  5. Assist Housing and Resource Coordinator with quarterly in-kind donation reports.
  6. Coordinate housing and donation volunteer services, move in teams, donation drives, service provision, tracking and reporting volunteer hours and managing in-kind donation inventory.
  7. In cooperation with the Volunteer Coordinator, recruit and supervise volunteers to assist with move ins, furniture deliveries, and warehouse days. 
  8. Staff warehouse days on occasional week or weekend days. 
  9. Work with development and marketing to advertise housing needs. 
  10. Build and maintain relationships with external partners to ensure material housing resources are sufficient for client needs.  

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Written and spoken English required, foreign language skills a plus
  • Ability to represent the mission and goals of the program and CCSWO to the public
  • A demonstrated ability to work with refugees and immigrants
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Commitment to the provision of services for refugees
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to drive personal and/or agency vehicles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree and knowledge of refugee resettlement services
  • Proficiency in a foreign language native to refugee populations, such as Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French, Tigrinya, Pashto, Dari

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

RRS interns, mentors, and volunteers 

Organizational Responsibility:

Work Environment:

Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to meet the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
